Leyland Racing

All change at Airwaves for 2011 BTCC campaign

Airwaves Racing has been confirmed as the new team name for 2011 as Motorbase Performance announce that they will campaign three Ford Focuses in this year’s Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship. The Kent based squad has switched from the BMWs it has run for the past three seasons to field Focuses powered by Mountune-built Ford NGTC (Next Generation Touring Car) spec engines.

Mat Jackson and Liam Griffin confirmed as drivers

Airwaves Racing have announced that Mat Jackson will return for the 2011 British Touring Car Championship campaign, whilst the team target outright glory with their new Ford’s. Liam Griffin will also join the team for the 2011 season. Liam has been with Motorbase Performance since 2009, where he competed in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB and will be making his BTCC debut at the opening rounds of the season at Brands Hatch on the 3rd of April.

Truguard makeover delivers the perfect finish

Leyland Trade’s partnership with leading BTCC team Motorbase Performance continues to speed along in top gear after it made a healthy donation of paint to bring the exterior of the team’s garage sparkling back to life. Leyland wasted little time in providing over 50 litres of Truguard smooth masonry paint to give the exterior the high-octane appearance one of the BTCC’s most colourful teams deserves.
